Tahini is a paste made from ground sesame seeds. In the Middle East and around the Mediterranean it is the base of hummus and many sauces, and in Bulgaria it is traditionally eaten with honey on bread.
SKY NV Oy makes and sells its own tahini in Finland. There is nothing in the jar but sesame – no added oil, sugar or salt.
Because nothing else is added, the sesame oil rises to the top over time. That is natural: stir before use.
